Hannovermesse 2025 – Dell shows bin picking cell
This year, Vathos was once again able to exhibit a robot cell at the Dell Technologies booth together with several partners. The system integrator Fehr Handlingsysteme GmbH of the Ott Group developed a bin picking cell that was equipped with our vision system. Our software in combination with a Keyence RB-800 sensor detected objects in a toe that were picked by an ABB GoFA. The special feature: Two algorithms were used. A generic model detected various cardboard boxes in any position (e.g. used for parcel separation or depalletizing). The second algorithm identified plastic bottles so that the robot could place them in an exact and oriented position (e.g. for precise machine tending).
Capgemini and Germanedge extracted the KPIs from the freely accessible Prometheus interface of our vision system and displayed them on dashboards. This made it possible to permanently track the number of picks, the pick rate or other useful information during the trade fair. In practice, this allows improved monitoring of the system and quick error analysis.
Anyone using Dell systems for the hardware infrastructure can integrate the Vathos software directly into their production environment via NativeEdge. NativeEdge enables the secure and efficient distribution and integration of our software. Continuous updates and distribution across national borders are thus solved securely and conveniently for enterprise production IT (see https://www.dell.com/en-us/lp/dt/edge-solutions-nativeedge).
